“I love you every step of the way…”
It’s such a beautiful promise to make to the one that you love; a promise that no matter what happens, we’ll take it together, one step at a time.
I met an elderly married couple in a book store a little while ago. They laughed together at little inside jokes, they held the doors open for each other and reached for each others’ hands like they were newly weds. They glowed when they were together.
When my curiosity finally got the better of me I walked over and introduced myself to them. It turns out that these two, so happily in love, were not in fact newly weds but had been married for 45 years. It made me smile that they were that in love even after all this time.
My wish for every couple that I meet is that they too will experience that new love energy every day of their lives. That they will be like newly weds, seeking each other out, wanting each others touch and embrace even on their 75th wedding anniversary.
With love, nothing is ever impossible.
I repeat this phrase over and over to myself…
Nothing is ever impossible.
Love can change opinions. It can change minds.
It can change the world.
Love is powerful. Love is pure. It is full of amazing moments when you first meet the girl or guy that you know you are one day going to marry.
You stop and look into their eyes, and somewhere in the hues of green, blue, grey, you see your reflection, reflected back in love.
I first met Melanie and Bethany over Skype. They had sent me an inquiry about my wedding packages and since they had a hectic schedule between work and finishing their schooling we arranged to meet via Skype.
I was struck even then by how happy they were together.
So full of happiness and love, they drive their strength from each other and from the laughter they share together each day.
We wandered around the arboretum, their babies (two dogs) and two friends in tow. And from time to time their friends would serenade them from off camera, just to keep things interesting.
All in all it was a great day and I am so thankful for the hour I got to spend with them. I can’t wait until your wedding day Mel and Beth! And I wish you the best on your move!!
Most couple’s crave sunshine, but when it came to LeeAnne and Renee’s engagement shoot they couldn’t think of anything more fun or romantic than dancing together beneath the rain drops.
And so we planned a special day and then kept our eyes on the weather network.
Until I woke up one morning to the sound of a light pitter patter against my window pane. I smiled to myself as I reached for my phone, but LeeAnne had already beat me to it.
“Today?” It said.
I smiled. “Today.”
