I just love getting things in the mail.
Every time I see that little red flag flying beside my mailbox, I run out expectantly. What will I find today?
Letters from family and friends?
Postcards from around the world?
Wedding Season, I’m ready for you.
Wedding Registries – Give the gift of Magic; the gift of lasting Memories.
Gone are the days where couples, just starting out, were getting married and needed bed sheets and blenders to stock their houses with. More and more couples are already established by the time they hit the aisle and say their “I do’s”. So what is Grandma to do if she wants to give a meaningful present? Money? Gift Cards?
Now at 2Bride Photography we offer a Wedding Photography Registry for your friends and family to contribute toward. Instead of traditional registries, they can contribute toward your Wedding Photography package or toward those extras you had your eye on…
Take a look through our product offerings and add them to your Registry the same way you would at one of the big super stores. Wall canvas? Yes please! Custom photo album of your favourite poses and photos? Definitely! You friends and family will receive a “We’re Registered at” card with a link to your personal Registry. There they can go online and view your ‘Must Have’ list and either pitch in toward an item or buy the item outright for you.
They’ll give the gift of meaning; of lasting memories from your Wedding Day.
Financing – An Alternate way to pay for your Wedding Package.
Weddings can be a real pain in the pocket book.
Lump sum payments seem to be required by every vendor… half of them all on the exact same day!
What’s a couple to do but turn their pockets inside out?
We definitely understand the strain all these payments can make on your normal day to day finances. Which is why 2Bride Photography now offers an easier way to pay for your Wedding Photography. Financing.
Split the cost of your Wedding Package into equal monthly payments. Choose the day you want your payment to come out each month. Choose the payment method (Credit Card or through your bank account) and we will withdraw the amount directly from your credit card or account each month until the package is paid in full. You no longer have to worry about large payments to be made. It’s just one easy form and you’re done. No more stress.
I stood in front of Natalie’s hotel room door and paused before knocking. One year ago to the day I met these two energetic, fun-loving girls on their engagement shoot.
It was a snowy winter day here in St Jacobs.
And today on their wedding day, one year later, Jessica got her wish: It was once again a snowy November morning.
One floor up Jessica and her friends were busy getting ready as well. Hair appointments, make up appointments; it was the typical wedding day chaos.
But all too soon we were rushing toward the hall and you could feel a bit of nervous, anxious, excitement in the air.
They each took turns walking down the aisle, hand made signs proceeded each bride’s entrance into the hall.
They stood together and tearfully read their vows in front of friends and family.
Mrs and Mrs.
Partners for life.
“But then we realized, we’ve gotten ready together every morning for the past ten years. It only makes sense to get ready together today.”
And I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes I think people fall prey to tradition. They think that because something was always done one way, they have to too. But it’s just not the case. Your wedding day should be about you. You should do the things that feel natural to you. You should make your own traditions and set your own standards for the day.
These two definitely did that.
They bought special, custom cufflinks that embodied their personalities: Harley Davidson helmets for Caden; A Pie symbol for Matt.
They had significant pins and pieces that they wore for each person that passed away before their day, to keep them close in spirit. They walked together, hand in hand and created a wedding day that was a great reflection of who they became as a couple over the past ten years.
We spent a little time around the Inn taking photographs, before their friends and family began spilling into the two room bed and breakfast where Caden and Matt had stayed the night before.
No one seemed nervous. No one was anxious. It seemed the more people that arrived, the more relaxed the atmosphere became. They sat together telling inside jokes, about making home made beer in the basement of friend’s homes and about the 9 years that Caden and Matt had been engaged.
And then it was time to head down the aisle…
As the ceremony began so did the rain. It started as a pitter patter and then began to pour, washing out the outdoor ceremony that Matt and Caden had hoped for. But after some quick thinking, they turned the situation of the room around. The grooms huddled in the doorway, the patio of the Ridgeway Restaurant spread out behind them. And although the room was a little cramped, there were beaming faces all around.
Best. First. Kiss. Ever.
From there we went to their reception…
Instead of clinking glasses there were competitions and challenges to get these two to kiss. It included singing songs and creating rhymes, all centered around things that were important to the grooms.
At one point they broke out “The World’s Straightest Man Competition.” Apparently Caden was a champion at this game. We got to see him show us his skills against one of the best men…
Winner and still Champion!!
Their wedding day was a fantastic celebration; a party to celebrate their love and the life they have built together.
It may have taken 9 years from popping the question to saying the “I do’s”, but I’d say everyone agreed it was well worth the wait.
Especially when you looked into their beaming faces, you couldn’t help but be struck by the fact that these two belonged together.
