I just love getting things in the mail.
Every time I see that little red flag flying beside my mailbox, I run out expectantly. What will I find today?
Letters from family and friends?
Postcards from around the world?
Wedding Season, I’m ready for you.
Beautiful photo opportunities appear in all kinds of different weather.
Sometimes it’s the beautiful shots you get as big puffy flakes of snow fall from the white cloud covered skies.
Sometimes it’s at night, as the stars come out and you huddled together bathed in the light of antique lanterns.
Or sometimes it’s walking down country roads, surrounded by a fog that has vanished the rest of the world from view… leaving just you, and your love.
I first met Sai and Helena online. Sai was in search of the perfect Valentine’s Day gift and my website happened to make it’s way onto the radar. We started planning, but life, and the bitter cold winter we had last year had other plans. Things got put off. Until finally on November 7th, I found myself in Crother’s Woods with this amazing couple, while they were tossing leaves and stealing kisses.
“I love you every step of the way…”
It’s such a beautiful promise to make to the one that you love; a promise that no matter what happens, we’ll take it together, one step at a time.
I met an elderly married couple in a book store a little while ago. They laughed together at little inside jokes, they held the doors open for each other and reached for each others’ hands like they were newly weds. They glowed when they were together.
When my curiosity finally got the better of me I walked over and introduced myself to them. It turns out that these two, so happily in love, were not in fact newly weds but had been married for 45 years. It made me smile that they were that in love even after all this time.
My wish for every couple that I meet is that they too will experience that new love energy every day of their lives. That they will be like newly weds, seeking each other out, wanting each others touch and embrace even on their 75th wedding anniversary.
With love, nothing is ever impossible.
I repeat this phrase over and over to myself…
Nothing is ever impossible.
Love can change opinions. It can change minds.
It can change the world.
